Raised by W. Pope at Welford Gardens, Newbury, Berkshire. It received an Award of Merit in 1912 and a First Class Certificate in 1913 from the Royal Horticultural Society. Fruits have firm, fine-textured flesh which is a little juicy and rather lacking in flavour.
