Raised by Luther Burbank in California, USA. Listed in 1901. Introduced by Fancher Creek Nursery in 1906/7. Received by the National Fruit Trials in 1955 from Station de Recherches, Ghent, Belgium. Fruits have deep red flesh with a subacid flavour.
